He is also survived by his sisters Mary, Celia, Sandy, Margie, and Arlene, along with his brothers Edward, Joseph, Danny, Donny, and Philip.
One of David’s favorite quotes—and a principle by which he tried to live his life—was from Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back:
“No! Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try.”
David always believed in not doing things halfway: either you are all in, or you’re out.
This sentiment is also reflected in Ecclesiastes 5:4–5:
“When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed—
Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.”
