Debra Lynn Bergin

Debra Lynn Bergin, 69, of Chico, CA, sadly passed away on Thursday May 1, 2025 at 4:30am with her children by her side at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose. She was born on August 23, 1955 in Pueblo, CO to Gloria McPherson and William Hobbs.

Debbie loved her family with all her heart and always wanted everyone to be happy. She was a constant source of love and unwavering support for her 3 children, Christy, Doug, and Desiree. Her Huntington’s diagnosis in 2009 was heartbreaking, but she did her best to stay positive. She cherished time spent with her brothers Bryan (decd. 2022) and Ray Hobbs and their families and especially loved visits with her grandchildren. She loved to sing, and dance, and watch movies with her kids and grandkids. Her kids and grandkids always loved to surprise her with sweets, as she had quite the sweet tooth. She spent her last 6 years in San Jose near her son to receive care for her ongoing health issues. She was a true warrior and fought so hard, but in the end her medical issues were too much for her to overcome. Her love and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Debbie is survived by her children, Christine Hodges and husband Marc Wells, Douglas Hodges and fiancé Jane Estioko, and Desiree Wilson and husband Thomas; and grandchildren, Christian, Hunter, Logan, Hannah, and McKenna; and brother Ray Hobbs.
