

Diana Mabanta (91) was born on August 18, 1932. She passed away peacefully at her home in San Jose Ca. on January 31, 2024.The 6th child of 10 children, she was born in San Roque Nueva Ecija and grew up in Cabanatuan Philippines. She met her husband Chris while he was a student at University of Santo Tomas studying Architecture. They were next door neighbors.They married in October 1953 and made a home in Olongapo City. Soon they moved to Manila to raise 3 kids. Their apartment was converted to a beauty shop below and upstairs was the living area for the family. Rose beauty parlor was operated along with her two sisters.
She was a cancer survivor and her faith in the Lord was strong from the beginning to the very end. She followed the 7th Day Adventist Faith from her Mom and passed it along to her family. During this time the family joined Chris in Guam in 1968 and they lived there quietly and happily.
She joined Mary Kay Cosmetics as a sales representative for a short time. She moved on to sell Avon products and jewelry from a small room in their house. She had her own “sari-sari” store and was a small business owner while raising 3 teenagers.
When the kids moved to San Jose Ca for college in 1976 she and Chris joined them in 1977 to live as a family again. She was married to Chris for 63 years until he passed away. Diana is survived by her 3 children: Lydia (Husband Vincent Ng, 2 grandchildren), Wilfred (Wife Alice Mabanta, 2 grandchildren) and Eliza (Husband Mark Miyasaki, 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren). She is also survived by her two sisters, Naty (Texas) and Ester (California) including many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, 02/18/24 at 1:00 pm at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary 48800 Warm Springs Blvd. Fremont CA 94539 with Pastor Morris Henriquez officiating.
