

Dominador Jimeno (“Don”) Simon was born on June 12, 1933 in Carmen Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was the eldest of three children by Eusebio Casim Simon and Esperita Jimeno Simon. Don graduated from Rosales High School, and entered the United States Navy at the age of 18. In 1959, he returned to the Philippines, and married Rosalinda “Rosie” Episcope. They immigrated to the United States in the early 1960s with their two young boys & temporarily settled at the United States Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1964 they were blessed with their third child. The family then relocated to Alameda, California and after a short stay and a second daughter born, they finally settled in Milpitas in June of 1968. Throughout his 20 year military career, Don received three medals: Good Conduct Medal (fifth award), National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. He was honorably discharged and retired from the US Navy in October 1973. Don returned to school, and received an Associates Degree from Foothill Community College in the early 1980s. For 15 years he worked as a drafting designer for Lockheed Missiles & Space. After leaving Lockheed, he cared for Rosie due to her terminal illness. He also trained under Jung Su Won Tai Kwon Do and achieved black belt status. He was named the oldest competing black belt with the organization. Don remained faithfully by Rosie’s side until her passing in November, 2014.
On Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:59PM he suddenly passed away to be with his wife. He is survived by his two siblings, Rudolfo and Angelina, their spouses, children and grandchildren; and his four children Arleigh, Nowell, Mia and Nanette & their spouses and children. He adored his nine grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Christiana, Nykole, Jacob, Westlee, Joshua, Joseph and Jared. The viewing for Don will be held at Lima Family Mortuary/Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94539 on June 23-24, 2015. Celebration of life mass will be held on June 25, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 279 South Main Street, Milpitas, CA at 10:00AM. Burial will be at Lima Family/Cedar Lawn. Reception following will be announced.
