Although I hadn't been in contact with Eileen since I started my nursing career, I considered her to be a friend that I had known for awhile ever since she and my sister Lori became friends in elementary school. I last saw Eileen at our 10 year high school reunion where she sat at my table and made the evening fun with her bubbly personality. As a fellow perinatal nurse, I am sure Eileen's patients benefitted from her knowledgable, nurturing and charming presence in their lives.
    I am deeply saddened by the loss of Eileen and my thoughts and prayers go to her family at this time.

To the family of Eileen, my deepest condolences on your loss.  Eileen was a very special person, and she will be missed by all of us.

I didn't Eileen, but we did share a life experience. We had gastric bypass the say day with the same surgical team. 
 Also, her Auntie Charlotte is a friend.

I met Eileen the trip when Rich brought her home and made his proposal.  As Rich's entry reads, I thought, what an odd pairing, not much in common but I liked her immediately.  My brother and I were opposites and she was more like me with a medical background. She had that intangible quality that neither me nor my brother have, she was a social butterfly, able to connect easily with everyone.  But when Rich was around her, he lit up as I had never seen him before. She was certainly the light in his life. The saying opposites attract rings so true as it brings more to a relationship, being able to share new things to each others life.  She certainly broadened my brothers horizon greatly.
  My heart aches for my brother and his children and parents and those closest to Eileen. I will miss her, we were not extremely close living on opposite coasts, but she loved coming to New England and seeing the fall foliage, the trip to Niagara Falls, and seeing new sites this area offered. She loved her family, kids grandkids, and especially my brother.  RIP, fly now as you spread those angelic wings.

Rich and family; I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved wife, sister, daughter, niece, grandmother, and cousin.  Even though I didn't get to see  Eileen much, she was always fun to be around when we had family get togethers.  I know she loved her family very much and her friends and family will miss her. Eileen was one of the nicest, most caring persons I have ever met.  She had such a kind heart and sole.  We spoke just a couple days before we all received this sad news.  We talked alot about everything and anything.  I asked how she was doing and she answered "good days and bad days".  R.I.P. Miss Eileen, you will surely be missed.

Let me be first, I hope.  I met Eileen via match.com in 1999, and we had our first date at the end of February, and didn't have our second for another four weeks because I had to travel and she initially only wanted to have dates on the weekends that she did not have her kids.  But from the very start, I felt comfortable with her, then we just clicked together, even though we're not that alike.  She makes friends easily, I don't, I'm so much a geek, and she's not.  But somehow we fit.

I originally intended to propose on New Year's Eve, 1999, the big Y2K, when we were going to be at her friend Carol's with Eileen's stepkids, but while visiting my parents for Christmas beforehand, I found I couldn't figure out what I was waiting for, and proposed to her at the side of the bed in my mom's bedroom on December 20th.  We married 9 months later, September 29th 2000, and I can still remember the feeling I had watching her walk down the flight of stairs that was the beginning of her approach to the gazebo under which we wed.
