Jenelyn met her soulmate, Reymundo, when she was 24 years old and they were married on April 27, 1977, and had 4 kids. Jenelyn worked for the Department of Motor Vehicle until she received her bachelor’s degree and received employment from the Department of Education, Ilocos Norte Division. In 1989, along with all 4 of their kids, they immigrated to the United States. They worked side by side for 12 years at Solectron Semiconductor starting November 11, 1989, only months after their arrival in California. After a mass layoff, Jenelyn found work supporting adults with mental disability through several care facilities and finally receiving a job offer working for the Santa Clara Office of Education and was assigned several 1:1 with Special Education students where she eventually retired from in July 2023 after 17 years. Her last student/client was Myla, whom she cared for and loved very much.
Besides being obsessed with her succulents and other plants while she was still healthy and able to care for them, Jenelyn also loved watching her mukbang videos, even when she started to feel sick, and was not able to eat well. But what she loved most was her grandkids. She always enjoyed having all 6 of them around her and enjoyed spoiling all of them. There was never a 4th of July that they didn’t each get an outfit to wear. She always enjoyed Fridays and weekends when the whole family (all 15 of us) would be together having dinner and just spending time together.
Jenelyn had an infectious smile and laugh that could light up the whole room. She loved traveling with her family, crocheting, beading, dancing, and exercising with her friends/co-workers and cooking. She was a fun person to be around and always entertained and joined in on her family’s funny antics and was always open to acting goofy. She was a loving wife and a supportive mother.
Jenelyn is survived by her husband, Reymundo; their only daughter, Jennifer & their 3 sons, Rojene (RJ), Reymund (Red) and Reymhar; her grandchildren, Jaeden, Makaela, Marissa, Reyen, Reyanne & Greycen; her son and daughter in-laws, Henry, Mary & Karen, and her siblings in the Philippines; Elizabeth, Nelson, Pedrito, Bobby, Emmanuel & Janet.
