He leaves behind his beautiful loving wife Gloria Ann Wheeler; son, John Jr. Wheeler; daughter, Terri Ann Wheeler; daughter Kimberly Ann Wheeler; daughter Karen Lee Ann Wheeler; daughter Lori Ann Wheeler Hurley ; son Eric Wheeler who proceeded him in death and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear relatives and many dear friends.
John Wheeler was born on July 23, 1934 to Beatrice Wheeler and Lee Ree Wheeler in Bastrop, Louisiana.John was raised in Bastrop, Louisiana until 1949, he the migrated to Oakland, California. John accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior at an early age at Lily of The Valley Church.
John was an entrepreneur at a young age , he owned a shoe repair business on Webster Street in Alameda, California and later he opened a meat market business, Wheeler Fish and Poultry located at 5110 East 14th Street.
John's passion was collecting antique cars, collecting rare coins, he also liked studying law, sitting and reminiscing with family and friends about the old days, but almost of all he loved playing lotto.
