Born on May 4, 1941, in Vietnam, Le experienced the tumultuous landscape of her homeland. She has endured many hardships during her life in Vietnam. She has truly felt fear and experienced the horrendous events of the Vietnam war from 1955 to 1975. Her family had worried for their lives, trying to find food and stable housing. Despite these terrible living conditions, Le never failed to be a wonderful, supportive mom to her 8 children. She made certain that her family was safe. With unwavering determination, she escaped the ravages of war, leaving behind her beloved country to seek a better future for herself and her family. Her journey to America was one of survival, marked by hardship and uncertainty, but she faced each challenge with grace and resilience.
With the generosity of the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, Le and her entire family was sponsored in 1978 to Louisville, Kentucky to allow a fresh start in the USA. Upon her arrival, they provided a home for Le and her children, and through the years provided support and love to the Le family. Le worked as a nursing assistant for approximately 8 years, providing nurturing care to those sisters in need. With hard work and determination, she built a life of stability and prosperity. Yet, amidst her own successes, her greatest joy came from nurturing her family.
Le poured her heart and soul into creating a loving home for her children and grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, instilling in them the values of love, compassion, and resilience. Her wisdom, kindness, and relentless support became the guiding light for her family, inspiring them to reach for their dreams and embrace life's challenges with courage.
In her later years, Le found solace in the simple pleasures of life – sharing stories, laughter, and cherished memories with her loved ones. She loved exploring food and new cities and spent time with her children and their families throughout the years.
Le Le’s legacy of love and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she may have left this world, her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives of her children and grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward with love and reverence.
She is survived by her devoted children: Hen, Ngoc, Chau, Quy, Tai, Loc, Thanh, and Thao, and her adoring 15 grandchildren: Linda, Michael, Cindy, Trisha, Alex, Katie, Ben, Brandon, Kiela, Jaedin, Vincent, Kendra, Bryce, Santino, and Aivy and a host of relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her presence.
Le was an exemplary mother, grandmother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and perpetual generosity. Even near the end of her life, she never failed to smile, laugh and care for her family. Le Le will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
Her departure has come with great shock and severed a deep wound felt by her entire family and from those who loved her deeply in the community. The family truly appreciates your support during this difficult time. To honor Le’s memory and continue her legacy of kindness and generosity, all proceeds will be donated to the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville.
