Lorie was born on December 10, 1937 in Agoo, La Union, Philippines. She was the second of five children to Leopoldo and Maria Domondon. After graduating in 1962 from the Philippine College of Commerce with a degree in Stenography and from the University of the East with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Accounting in 1965, she worked as a court stenographer for the Philippine Dept. of Agriculture and Natural Resources Bureau of Lands. It was from this job where she earned enough money and was able to help put her four sisters through college.
In 1967, while traveling in the U.S., Lorie was visiting family in Woodland, CA when she met, fell in love with and married, Federico Baliscao. They enjoyed 29 wonderful years together until Fred's passing in 1996.
In 1968, Fred and Lorie had their first of three sons, Jesse. Shortly after Jesse's birth, the Baliscaos moved to Mt. View, CA to start their new lives together. In 1972 and 1973, David and Ernesto were born. During this time Lorie worked as a wafer fab operator in the electronics industry as well as an Avon representative and life insurance agent. She possessed a keen business sense and always worked extremely hard to provide for her family. Lorie was also very generous to extended family and friends who needed help.
After 12 years in Mt. View and the addition of Lorie's mother, Maria, and sister, Consuelo, to the household, the Baliscaos relocated, in 1980, to the Berryessa area of San Jose, CA.
Lorie was a devout Catholic and faithfully attended mass. Lorie also loved to travel with her family and had grand adventures all over the world which included the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Philippine Islands, the Caribbean and Australia. She also loved to play black jack and would frequently take trips to the local casinos. An avid walker, Lorie enjoyed morning walks with Consuelo and her neighborhood "barkadas."
Lorie is survived by her sons, Jesse, David and Ernie; grandchildren Lauren, Isabella, Zoe, Noah and Jayden; as well as her sisters, Consuelo, Fabiana (Sr. Mary Hedwig) and Isabel.
She will be greatly missed by us all.
