December 12, 1937 – July 10, 2016
Lucy passed away peacefully at her home in Newman, CA.
Lucy was born to Luz (Rivero) Clemens and Thomas Clemens in Douglas, AZ.
She was married to Jesus Lara (Chuy), the love of her life.
They were married for over 40 years and lived in Milpitas for over 30 years. Lucy was
a loving wife, mother and a career woman.
Lucy worked for Hewlett-Packard & CET (Center for Employment Training). As a Job Developer at CET, she helped women have a career in the growing electronic field in Silicon Valley.
She was well respected and loved by those she worked with and helped. She and her husband also owned/operated South Bay Pool Chlor for over 25 years in Santa Clara County.
Another of Lucy’s passions was taking family vacations to Mexico and Reno.
She loved spending hours at the blackjack tables. That was her ‘other’ job.
Lucy was a role model and a devout Christian. She and her husband were long-time parishioners of St. John’s Church in Milpitas. She lived what she believed.
And no matter who showed up at her door they were always welcomed warmly.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Chuy. Lucy is
survived by her sons Stephen and Michael Lara, her grandson
Jesse Lara, daughter-in-law Soraya Lopez, sisters Willy Townsend and Penny Stratton,
goddaughters Juanita Winters & Keri Kopriva, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
God bless Lucy in her new forever home. We will see you again.
