

Luisa Domingo Manuel, also known as “Lola Rosa" passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 27, 2021 in San Jose, California at the age of 94. Lola is survived by her daughter, Erlinda, with 5 grandchildren, Tessie, Rosana, Emily, John and Evelyn. In addition are her 3 grandchildren in the Philippines from her late son, MarieCris, MaryJoy and Laurence. She's also survived by 12 great grandchildren, Remi, JoAnn, Alan, Kiana, Kyle, Jacob, Isabella, Kaylee, Sarah, Alec, John and Aldriane and a great-great grandson, Koda.
Lola was born in Lihue, on the island Kauai, Hawaii on January 31, 1927. As a young child, she and her father sailed back to the Philippines to live in the province of IIocos Norte. In the late 70s, she moved back to the United States and worked as a nanny and a housekeeper for over 10 years. After retirement, she reunited and lived with her daughter and grandchildren in the Bay Area, California.
Lola’s faith in God was a steadying force throughout her life. She was a devout Catholic and have consistently attended early Sunday morning mass at St. John the Baptist Church and Our Lady of Peace Church. With her good sense of humor and funny expressions such as, “Oh boy!, Don’t be ridiculous!”, and “Oh come on!“ , Lola was always at the center of many occasions of joy and happiness for her family.
