Marie was born and raised in Honolulu, HI, and was the 7th of 11 children. In her early 20’s while vacationing in California she met the love of her life, Moses Pagán, at a Puerto Rican dance in Hayward. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage and raised 4 children in the Bay Area.
Marie and Moses were a lively entertaining duo. The Pagán home was always a welcome haven for all, a gathering place full of love, laughter, music, dancing, storytelling and great food. Marie was known for being an exceptional cook of countless cuisines, a self-taught musician of multiple instruments, an avid gardener and loving childcare provider. Marie impacted the lives of many, is irreplaceable and will be deeply missed.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Moses Pagán, and is survived by her children; Tony (Janet), Calvin, Phillip and Carolyn, 9 grandchildren; Catrina, Zachary (Valerie), Nathaniel, Devin (Asami), Justin, Amanda (Nick), Alexandra (Joseph), Preston and Mason, and 13 great grandchildren.
