Born on October 29, 1930 in Jiangsu province, China, he escaped the Chinese Civil War at the age of 19 to Taiwan and immigrated to United States to be with his family in 1983. Yin Hui graduated from National Taiwan University and went on to be a dedicated civil engineer working for the Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) and City of San Jose for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, known for his bright smile, gentleness, patience, and optimistic outlook on life. He was a worldly traveler (over 30 countries), inquisitive mathematician, and an avid bridge card player along with being a stamp collector. Yin Hui is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jen Fenn; his son, Wei Kung; his daughter-in-law, Grace; his beloved granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Mei Mei; and his sister, Yin Hoo.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, and the family will receive friends for visitation from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, California 94539.
