
He was born on May 20, 1928 in Kendallville, Indiana to the late Earl and Fern (Zimmerman) Albright.
Don joined the U.S. Army in 1946 and spent a portion of his service as a medic in Japan at the end of World War II.
He married Wava L. Miller on September 27, 1947. She preceded him in death on September 14, 2024.
Don spent the majority of his career as an independent contractor, building homes and providing remodeling services.
He was very active in the community, serving as President of the Joyce Public Library Board, as well as spearheading the remodeling and up-grade of the library facility. He also served as the President of the Greenlawn Cemetery Board and served as the perpetual caretaker at the cemetery for over 30 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandy Berryhill of Norfolk, Arkansas and Dawn (John) Luttman of Orland, Indiana, daughters-in-law, Sherry Albright of Orland, Indiana, and Bonnye Albright of Angola, Indiana, eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, his sister, Dorcas Norton of Orland, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Wava, sons, Randy and Erich, parents, Earl and Fern and brothers, Dean and Milo.
Burial will be on Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Indiana.
Following Don’s wishes, there will not be a viewing or services. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
