Donna G. Brown

Donna was born in Fremont, Indiana on December 7, 1931 the daughter of Arthur and Iona (Lower) Schaeffer, they preceded her in death.

Donna graduated from Fremont High School in 1950.

She retired from Tokheim Corporation in Fremont, Indiana. She was known as the “cake lady” of Fremont, she made many cakes over the years for weddings, birthdays, graduations, and other occasions. She was an avid bowler, and she was a kindergarden volunteer for many years at Fremont Elementary School, and had attended church at Fremont United Methodist Church, and Peace Lutheran Church. She spent as much of her free time as possible, following her childrens’, grandchildrens’, and great-grandchildrens’ ball games, and many activities. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters of Fremont for more than 5o years.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy (Dan) Houser of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sons, Butch (Michelle) Brown of Estero, Florida, and Steve (Patti) Brown of Fremont, Indiana, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, brothers, DeWayne (Myrna) Schaeffer, and Keith (Marlene) Schaeffer, both of Fremont, Indiana, and her best friend, Patty Rupp of Fremont, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church, 355 East State Road 120, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Jeffrey Teeple officiating.

Burial will be at Fremont Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.

Memorials are requested to Wee Creations Pre School at Peace Lutheran Church or to Dollars for Scholars at Fremont Community Schools.
