Howard Jay Steele Jr.

Howard Jay "Howie" Steele, Jr., age 62, of Eustis, Florida, passed away Sunday February 10, 2013, in Fremont, Indiana. Mr. Steele had been traveling on his way to see his family back home in Michigan, and to help celebrate his mother’s 82nd birthday, when he died unexpectedly along the way.

Mr. Steele was born on October 3, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Howard Jay and Shirley (Bartlett) Steele, his father preceded him in death.

Mr. Steele married Willynne Den Braber on the 5th day of June, in 1970, at Grand Rapids, Michigan, and they shared 42 years of marriage towards forever, Mrs. Steele survives in Eustis, Florida.

Mr. Steele was a truck driver, and later he owned his own truck for many years.

In 2001, Mr. and Mrs. Steele moved to Florida to be closer to their family.

Although fancy trucks still turned his head, he began to spend most of his time managing his rental properties, staying home and being neighborly.

Mr. Steele is survived by his wife, Willynne (Willie) Steele, Eustis, Fla., his mother Shirley Steele, his children, Greg and Erin Malone, and Andrew and Amy Freeman, he was “Gramps” to Faith, Westi and Gunner Malone.

He is also survived by his siblings, Tootsie, Judy and Ryan, Joe, and John and Chris, they all reside in Michigan.
