

He was born on June 6, 1929, in Angola, Indiana, to Howard and Hazel (Church) Atha.
He married, Frances Brown on November 20, 1954, in Edon, Ohio. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2009.
He retired in 1991 from Metal Spinners and farming. He was a graduate of Scott Center School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Angola American Legion Post # 31. He was a devout Detroit Tigers fan, and was very devoted to his family.
Surviving are his children, Stan Atha (Tonya Peters) of Hamilton, Janelle (Montgomery) Conley of New Castle, IN., Tom Atha of Fremont, Susan Atha (William Wahl) of Indianapolis, IN., and nieces, Sharon (Harley) Dodge of Angola, Shirlee (Marty) Mitchell of Coldwater Lake, MI., Pam Ayres of Bedford, TX., Jennifer (Jim) Walter of Milton, FL., and Jill (David) Barber of Vandalia, OH, Five Grandchildren, Danielle Atha (fiancé Chad Garman), Erin and Sean Conley, Ben and Mark Atha, and great-grandchild, Carter James Garman, one sister-in-law, Sue (John) Siebenaler, and Carol Atha.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Fran Atha, his brother, Bill Atha, his sister, Jane Williamson, nephew, Lindsay Williamson, and a granddaughter: Lynn Atha
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday January 15, 2014 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, IN
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday January 16, 2014, with Rev. David Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow at Fremont Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
