Janice Crawford

Janice was born on August 23, 1933 in Fremont, Indiana, the daughter of Brock Alvin McNaughton and Althea Jane (Heller) McNaughton Knauss, they preceded her in death.

She graduated from Fremont High School in 1951, and also Warner Beauty College in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Janice started out working at The Beauty Box in Fremont, Indiana for Eenie Merriman. She later went to work for the First National Bank of Fremont in 1953 as a teller, and retired in 1997 as assistant cashier.

Janice married Jerry Crawford on September 4, 1954 in Fremont, Indiana.

Janice was very proud of her 44 years working at the First National Bank of Fremont. She was also bookkeeper and partner in Crawford Excavating, and Sabin-Northside.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Janice relaxed by sitting on her front porch enjoying her view of the lake. Her hobbies were macramé, stitchery, crafts, and puzzles. She took great pleasure in making gifts for others.

Janice was a member of the Order of Eastern Star # 229, formerly in Fremont, Indiana, and the Fremont American Legion Auxillary.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Crawford of Fremont, Indiana, her children, Jo Crawford of Orland, Indiana, Andra Brandon of Mission, Texas, and Brian (Lynda) Crawford of Fremont, Indiana, grandchildren, Coty Crawford of Fremont, Indiana, and Haley Crawford of Findlay, Ohio, a sister, Jane Box of Hawthorne, Florida, brothers, Jim (Kay) Knauss of Mesa, Arizona, and Bill (Mary) Knauss of Reading, Michigan, sisters-in-law, Betty Seifert of Garrett, Indiana, Noreta Lahrman of Fremont, Indiana, Judy Brown of Coldwater, Michigan, Reavel Crawford of Stroh, Indiana, and Bettye Crawford of Fremont, Indiana, and a brother-in-law, Rod (Vicki) Crawford of Coldwater, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Waldo and Carol McNaughton, and a sister, Darlene Collins.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Don Lee officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.

Memorial donations in her memory are requested to the Alzheimers Association or to the American Heart Association.
