Mabel Zimmerman

Mabel K. Zimmerman, age 81, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on May 16, 2018, at Northern Lakes Nursing Center, Angola, Indiana. Mabel was born on February 11, 1937 in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of Theodore and Lois (Jackson) Patterson, they preceded her in death. She graduated from Fremont High School. Mabel married Ronnie L. Zimmerman on November 3, 1956, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1991. Mabel lived most of her life in the Fremont, and Montgomery areas. She formerly attended the Ray Church. She enjoyed genealogy, playing the organ, and flowers. She loved her family and especially all of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker, and also worked for the Montgomery Egg Company, the Elmhurst Hospital in Angola, and the Coldwater Hospital. Survivors include her children, Chris (Todd) Nichols of Locus Fork, Alabama, Rick (Heidi) Zimmerman, and Brian Zimmerman, both of Fremont, Indiana, 11 grandchildren, Erin Cole, Kendra Hughes, Roman Nichols, Alisha Nichols, Jamie Theisen, Bethany Ryan, Samantha Zimmerman, Michael Slater, Charlene Kresal, Veronica Zimmerman, and Zola Zimmerman, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Norma (Don) VanRegenmorter of Fremont, Indiana, two brothers, Glen Patterson, of Portage, Michigan, and Frank (Marsha) Patterson of Fremont, Indiana, and a brother-in-law, Don Little of Fremont, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra Zimmerman, and a sister, Kathleen “Katie” Little. Graveside Services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Berg Cemetery, Montgomery, Michigan, with Rev. Jim Hazenkamp officiating.
