Normagene R. "Norma" (Pabst) Eckman

She was born on August 11, 1932 in East Gilead Township, Michigan to the late Louis and Bernadette (Huguenard) Pabst.

Norma graduated from Fremont High School.

She married Robert D. Eckman in 1952 in Paris, France while Robert was stationed there in the US Air Force.

After serving in the Air Force they moved back home and lived in Fremont until Robert graduated from Tri-State College.

They later lived in South Bend, Indiana, Virginia, Washington DC, and eventually settled in Columbus, Indiana, in1966.

Norma loved to grow flowers, and was a member of the Garden Club in Columbus. She also was a longtime volunteer at the Columbus Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlene (Gary) Sloat of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a grandson, Daniel (April) Sloat of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a grand-daughter, Christina (Nick) Griggs of Churubusco, Indiana, and a great-grandson, Colton Griggs.

She was preceded by her husband, Robert Eckman, a brother, Willard (Winifred) Pabst, and a sister, Geraldine Pabst.

Private burial will be at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
