Patsy A. Michael

Pat was born on March 3, 1929, in DeKalb County, Indiana, the daughter of Clellie CR and Gladys M. (Everetts) Smart, they preceded her in death.

She graduated from Fremont high School and attended Tri-State University (Now Trine University), Angola, Indiana.

She married Philip E. Michael on July 3, 1947 in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2008.

Pat retired as first deputy for the Steuben County Treasurers office after ten years of service. She also worked for Culligan of Fremont, and Reflector Advertising in Angola, and always helped with the family farm.

She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church, and the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257, Auxillary. She loved her family and grandchildren very much, and she enjoyed painting.

Survivors include her four children, Cheryl Michael of Red Oak, Texas, Dennis Michael of Fremont, Indiana, Gary (Rose) Michael of Fremont, Indiana, and Neil (Trudy) Michael of Merrimac, Wisconsin, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Hays of Shreveport, Louisiana, Nancy Wilcox of Angola, Indiana, and Sharon (Rod) Wells of Angola, Indiana, and two brothers, Clellie (Tootsie) Smart of Washington, North Carolina, and David Smart of Angola, Indiana.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Smart and a sister, Phyllis Hutchins.

Calling hours will be from 6-8 pm Monday, September 1, 2014, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Indiana, one hour of visitation prior to the services on Tuesday.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Beams Funeral Home with Rev. Darin C. Hendrey officiating.

Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
