

Mr. Hess worked for many years at International Harvester in Fort Wayne and Amcast Aluminum in Fremont. He also worked part-time at Pokagon State Park.
He graduated from Decatur Catholic High School and attended Ball State University.
Mr. Hess was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, sports, and was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and Notre Dame.
He was born in Decatur on April 23, 1948, to Robert and Bertha (Braun) Hess. He married Sharon Kay Randol in Angola at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew (Kristi) Hess of Tucson, Arizona, and Mickey Hess of Lake George, Fremont; a granddaughter, Evey Nicole Hess,and a sister, Susie (John) Cowans of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 700 W. Maumee St., Angola, with Father Robert Showers officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, with military honors conducted by members of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257.
There will be one hour of calling prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
