She was born on August 9, 1940 in Fremont, Indiana to Earl and Lois (Wells) Champion.
Marlene graduated from Fremont High School in 1958.
She married David Goodwin on July 17, 1960 in Angola, Indiana.
Marlene was the co-owner of the family antique shop, Maple Leaf Antiques, and also worked at the former Clark’s Drugstore in Fremont.
She loved to read, was a wonderful country cook, refinishing furniture, being with all her family, and having family get togethers.
Survivors include her husband, David Goodwin of Fremont, Indiana, children, Bridget (Rand) Ehinger of Angola, Indiana, James “Cam” (Anita) Goodwin of Geneva, Indiana, and Travis (Staci) Goodwin of Columbus, Indiana, grandchildren, Trent (Tasha) Ehinger of Angola, Indiana, Aleesha (Tanner) Wall of Angola, Indiana, and Briar (Kayley) Goodwin of Berne, Indiana, and great-grandchildren, Kaizley and Kennedy Lothridge, and Maylinn Goodwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lois Champion, sisters, Colleen Champion and Marilyn Hansen, and brothers, Charles Champion and Galen Champion.
Graveside Services will be held at 12 pm Friday, May 31, 2024 at California Cemetery, California Township, Michigan. Pastor Mark Eicher will officiate the service.
