She was born in Orland, Indiana on March 25, 1932 to the late Ottie and Leona (Wathen) Calhoon.
Wilma graduated from Orland High School. She later married Ralph Edward Thomas on July 10, 1954 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2016.
Wilma worked as a secretary for the family business, Thomas Electric, and later for Gettig Engineering.
She enjoyed putting puzzles together, working in her garden, and loved her family very much.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl (Darren) Karlson of Fort Pierce, Florida, son, Martin (Judy) Thomas of Fort Wayne, Indiana, grandsons, Leland Karlson (Jeannine Warren) of Stuart, Florida, Dustin Karlson of Fort Pierce, Florida, Michael Thomas, and Jonathan Thomas of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and great-grandchildren, Julia Warren, Ayden Karlson, and Kayla Karlson, all of Stuart, Florida.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelley Sine on July 8, 2006.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow at 1 pm Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Rev. Mark Emelander will officiate the service.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Indiana.
