

Lamar C. Wilhelm, 90, of Fremont died Tuesday morning at Elmwood Assisted Living. He was born August 2, 1926 in Fremont the son of Carolus and Edna (Moeschle) Wilhelm. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High. On May 6, 1950 he married Kathryn Miller, she preceded him in death on September 3, 2010.
Lamar worked as a mechanic for the Ames and Wilhelm Garage and Frederick Auto Sales. In 1961, alongside his wife, he established and operated Wilhelm Auto Parts. After his retirement, the business was purchased and operated by his son and Lamar and Katie wintered in Florida.
Lamar was a United States Army Veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Eagles, Elks, Moose and the American Legion.
Surviving is his son Thomas (Paula) Wilhelm of Fremont, step-grandson Craig Stokes; great-granddaughters Amanda Stokes and Brittnie Stokes; brother Dean (Diane) Wilhelm of Twinsburg, Ohio.
Visitation will take place at 10:00A.M. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio . Funeral services will begin at 11:00A.M. at the funeral home with Deacon Mel Shell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
