

She was born February 28, 1920 in Fremont the daughter of Harold and Jennie (Swanger) Hufford . Violet was a 1938 graduate of Jackson Burgoon High School. She married Earl Hurst in 1941 and they were happily married for 46 years, until his passing in 1987. In 1990, Violet married Harold Boos, he preceded her in death in 1992. She was a homemaker, but also worked as a bookkeeper for the Northern Ohio Sugar Co. for many years.
She was a member of many organizations: Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Loyal Workers, Batesole Farm Women's Club, and Latecomers Farm Council. Violet was a wonderful lady who was sharp, witty, and a perfectionist at heart. She was very independent and sometimes strong-willed, but loved her family so very much. She had a great sense of humor and had such a love of crafts and detailed seamstress work. She had a wonderful mind, mostly fed by her love of reading. She also enjoyed traveling, playing board games, and was declared "Rummy Champion of the World" by her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Daun (Dan) Diedrich of Fremont, Karla (Mark) Bartholomy of Perrysburg, Gail (Floyd) Trawick of Conroe, TX; special friend, Richard Damschroder of Fremont; step-son, Gary (Susie) Boos of Tiffin; step-daughter, Sue (Bill) Fruth of Tiffin; sister, Lulu Damschroder of Fremont;sister-in-law, Judy Hufford of Fremont; three grandchildren, Tatum Diedrich of Fremont, Jill Diedrich of Brooklyn, NY, Travis Trawick of Conroe, TX ; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Earl Hurst; second husband, Harold Boos; step-grandchild, Alan Boos; brother, Harold Hufford; and sister, Emerald Henderson.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 21 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral & Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont with services beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pastor G. Alan Brown II O.S.L. will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
