I am saddened to hear of Al’s passing.  I met Al during Nancy’s first year at El Capitan Middle School. He was a funny, always smiling and a genuinely nice man. May peace be with you, Nancy, and to  your whole family as you grieve his passing and reflect on your memories of his life.

I am sorry to hear about Al's passing.  I will miss his sense of humor and his jokes.  He could always enliven any group he was  a part of with his entertaining stories.  He will be missed not only by his family, but also by all of us who had the good fortune to know him.

I met Al while teaching at El Capitan Middle School. I cannot tell how many times I fell for his jokes, that would always start out as serious stories. He could keep such a straight face up until the punch line, when you knew you'd fallen for yet another one. My heart and prayers go out to Nancy and family. Al will be greatly missed by all.

I am so saddened to hear of Al’s passing. I often think of eating dinner before a school event and listening to Al and Doug Perry discussing education. I learned a lot from those two as well as Nancy who is the best educator I have ever met. Prayers to the family. He was a heck of a guy.
