Mom and dad met in college and were married in 1955. Ann didn’t drive until dad finally taught her. She stayed home with the children until they went to junior high school. She went back to college and got her degree at Fresno State in 1971. From there she worked at the Fresno State bookstore until we both graduated.
Mom loved to work with her hands. She knew how to sew but decided she wanted to try quilting. She loved it and spent over 20 years quilting. She specialized in miniature quilts and Hawaiian quilt patterns. Dad helped mom write 2 quilting books. Dad was the drawing engineer under mom’s instructions and expertise. Mom even won a blue ribbon in the art department of the Fresno Fair. She was also featured in a couple of quilting magazines. Her and her quilts were a main attraction at a quilt show in Madera. She taught quilting at Fresno City College and also at Quilter’s Paradise in Clovis. She was a member of Fiber Arts Guild. Mom also did tatting in her later years.
Mom loved to travel with dad. They went to Branson, Calgary, Tennessee, New York, and Germany for Oktoberfest. They also liked to go to the casinos and gamble.
Dad loved to dance so now his dance card is full again as they are together dancing.
She was predeceased by her beloved spouse, Donald B. Diebert. Ann is survived by her son, Donn Diebert and his wife Luisa, her daughter, Linda Bustamante and her husband Felix, and her granddaughter, Danielle Pulley and her husband Bryan.
A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, located at 1411 W Belmont Ave, Fresno, CA 93728, on October 16, 2025, at 11:00.
