

Anna Nichols left this earth on October 28, 2013, at the age of 78, after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leland; a daughter Nancy, her mother, a sister and a niece and nephew.
Anna was born in Russia on August 23, 1934. Anna, her mother, Maria, and sisters escaped the war and prison camps when they came to America on June 12, 1952. Anna and her sisters moved to Fresno, CA in 1953 where Anna met and married Leland Nichols and they had five children. She worked off and on over the years until she found her calling. Anna lived for what she loved doing…being a greeter at Wal-Mart, which she did for 10 years before her health declined causing her to retire, after which she was taken care of by her daughter LeAnn, granddaughter Natassja and great grandson Matthew.
Anna loved going to Pismo Beach with her family. She also had a great passion for knitting and trips to Las Vegas.
Anna is survived by her children, LeAnn Nichols, Randy Nichols and his wife Mary, Leland Nichols, Kenneth Nichols and his wife Julia; two sisters, Erna Stephenson and Frieda Miller; two sisters-in-law Shirley Grantham and Fredina Tomlinson; grandchildren, Natassja, Hailey, Madison, Isabella, Kenny, Dale, Nathan and Matthew; great grandchildren, Matthew, Preston, Aiden, Braydon, Sabrina, Jacob and Kameron; many nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a visitation on at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
