Aram was born in Philadelphia, PA where he enjoyed his time in high school, especially as a member of the Lincoln High gymnastics team. After high school, he and his parents moved to Los Angeles, California and he soon enlisted in the US Army. During his time in service, he was stationed in Bordeaux, France. Aram absolutely loved sharing stories of the friends he made in Bordeaux and the adventures he had there.
After fulfilling his service to our country, Aram began his career as the successful owner of a local business, U-Save Hardware. Even years after retirement, people would often stop to say hello and stress how much they missed his store.
In 1963, he wed his beautiful wife Mary Dulgarian and they soon completed their family with their son Mark and daughter Nancy. They resided in Fresno, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and ultimately called Clovis their home.
Aram loved spending most of his time outdoors with his many plants, birds and other animals. He loved water skiing, dancing and riding his bicycle every single day.
Aram is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary Darakjian, parents Arshag and Araxie Darakjian, and brother Mardy Darian.
Aram is survived by his son Mark Darakjian, daughter Nancy McCombs (Thomas), granddaughters Tara and Taylor McCombs, sister-in-law Sonia Keshishian (George), and nephews and nieces.
A graveside service for Aram will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Masis Ararat Cemetery, 250 N Hughes Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.whitehurstsullivan.com for the Darakjian family.
