She was born Beatrice Montelongo Lango on January 4, 1922, to Valentin and Maria Lango in Selma, California, the fourth of sixteen children. Bea passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her family.
She met and married Lupe Fernandez in 1955, while working at SunMaid Raisins. Together they raised six children and celebrated both their 40th and 50th anniversaries with large family parties.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank their private caregivers and all the nice people at Hinds Hospice who made her last days comfortable. God bless you all!
Lupe predeceased Bea in 2007, after 51 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Irene and her husband Art Gonzalez, Daniel Fernandez, Carmen Lango, and Victor and his wife Rebecca Fernandez, all of Fresno; Carlos and his wife Leticia Fernandez of Selma, and Anita and her husband Dan Metroka of Riverside. She has twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
