She worked for Sun-Maid and Fresno Unified School District before retiring. Belle loved to travel and enjoyed life to the
fullest.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Belle was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Rivas; parents, Juan and Jesus Hernandez; and sisters, Carmen Pulido and Rosie Arevalo.
She is survived by her sisters, Rita Quiroz, Terry Valdez and Maggie Hernandez; brothers, Robert, Daniel, Louie, Tom and Johnny Hernandez; as well as the extended Hernandez and Rivas family. She was a loving mother to Sylvia Marquez, Sally Savona, Michael Rivas, Gary Rivas and their spouses; as well as seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, January 5, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint John's Cathedral on Monday, January 6, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
