Bernard "Bernie" Rauch was born on May 19th, 1952 to Mildred and Charles Rauch in Dayton, Ohio. Bernie passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife Shirley on October 16th, 2021 in Fresno CA, after a two-and-a-half year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The third of six children, Bernie graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1970. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1973 before being honorably discharged in 1978. He spent the remainder of his career as an engineer in the aerospace industry. After retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2009, Bernie spent his free time outdoors, fishing and cruising the high seas with Shirley.
Bernie was preceded in death by his father Charles, his mother Mildred, and his sister-in-law Roseanne.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his step-daughters Masika Henson (Frank) of Oakland, CA and Nicole Henson of Fresno, CA, and his grandson Adamien Goodwin of Fresno, CA. He is also survived by five siblings: Charles Rauch of Orlando, FL; Sheryl Call of Orlando, FL; James Rauch of Mount Vernon, KY; Theresa Harris of Kennesaw, GA; Joseph Rauch (Kim) of Dayton, OH; as well as his nephews George P. Rauch, Benton C. Call, James D. Rauch, Nathan J. Rauch, Joseph C. Rauch, Mohammed "Yusof" Rauch and numerous family and friends. "He is loved and greatly missed."
A memorial service for Bernard will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721.
