Bernice was born on July 26, 1930 in Grimes, CA, the day after her mother Marie Held's birthday. Bernice went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on May 10, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno at age 85. Her loving son Walter was by her side.
Married to Walter Leroy Malsbary, Jr. on August 27, 1949, Bernice was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She was with Roy for 47 years until his death October 7, 2006.
Mom loved worshiping her savior, the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength. She enjoyed reading the Bible and had a gift for memorizing scripture. She was know for her beautiful crochet work, wonderful sense of humor, great memory for names, dates, and numbers, and love for her nieces and nephews.
Bernice is survived by her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Mike Herron of London, KY, son Walter Leroy Malsbary III of Fresno, sisters Mary Robinson and Ruth Peabody. She was preceded in death by siblings William, June, and Barbara.
A Graveside Service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
