

Betty was born on February 11, 1929. She always encouraged, counseled and enriched the lives of all her family. Betty was a Christian, dynamic community volunteer,and citizen. She went to rest on Monday, November 12, 2012.
She graduated with a 4.0+ GPA from Edison High School in 1947. She married her high school sweetheart, Armando Rodriguez, on July 15, 1950. They worked diligently to achieve his educational goal. Armando began his law practice and Betty began her dedication to volunteering in their city of Fresno. She joined the League of Women Voters. Betty was always an advocate of continuing education and helping disadvantaged people. She continually encouraged her family to higher academic achievement and responsible citizenship.
Betty was actively involved with the Fresno Historical Society, Fri- ends of the Library, Girl Scouts, Children's Service Network, Infant of Prague Auxiliary, LARCs, LMAW, Torreon-Fresno Sister City Com- munity and Arte Americas. She was honored by several community based organizations, the City of Fresno, State of California, the United States Congress and the Government of Mexico for her dedication and contributions to her community. Betty was devoted to many causes that helped people of all ages. She made many very dear friends that she cherished.
Betty always put Armando and her family first and enjoyed the blessings of family and many friendships. May her love and life be an inspiration of love, citizenship and service to all that were touched by her.
She is survived by Armando, her husband of 62 years; her sister, Emma Castro; and an extended family, and many nephews and nieces that will dearly miss their "Tia Betty".
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, November 19, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests your Remembrances may be made to the LARCs; Friends of the Library; LMAW Scholarship Fund; Arte Americas; or your favorite charity.
