She came, she saw, she conquered. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Barsotti Bruny, born March 18, 1936, who left this world on September 5, 2025, at the age of 89.
Carol was born and raised in Fresno, California, and graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School. She later attended Fresno State University when it was still located at the City College campus. Early in her career, she worked as a dental assistant before dedicating her life to her family, her church, and her community.
On September 10, 1960, Carol married Dr. Stephen J. Bruny, a radiologist, and together they built a marriage that spanned 56 years. Their bond was one of true devotion, rooted in faith, love, and family. Although Stephen preceded her in death in 2016, their love story endures, reunited in eternity.
Carol lived with grace, courage, and unwavering faith. She never knew a stranger—if you met her once, she was your friend for life. She glowed when speaking of others, delighted in sharing stories, and was the heart of her family’s “grapevine,” keeping everyone connected. Witty, sharp, funny, and full of life, Carol poured boundless love into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her six children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Carol leaves behind a family who cherishes her memory and will carry forward her legacy of love, faith, family, and strength.
