Caroline was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 30, 1932, to Peter and Letty Mae Nelson. As a young girl, she moved to California with her mom and sister in order to join her two brothers. She attended Visalia Union High School in Visalia, California, and both Fresno City College and Fresno State College in Fresno, California.
In 1950, Caroline married Wallace Luther McFall, and together they had six children, twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Caroline is now survived by her husband of 74 years, Wallace McFall. She is also survived by her sister, Letty Mae Cotta, son Glenn McFall and his wife Beth, as well as daughters Kathleen Hushek and husband Joe, Kimberly Davis and husband Ted, Karolee McFall, and Sue McFall. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Caroline is preceded in death by her daughter, Earlene McFall, son, Roger McFall, great-granddaughter Immie Lynn Davis, and brothers Clarence "Bo" Nelson and Wayne Nelson.
Family was always Caroline's first priority. She taught her family to love and take care of one another, and she worked hard to maintain that closeness through family gatherings, parties, and other events. Her happiest times were when everyone was all together. Caroline stayed involved in each and every child, grandchild, and great grandchild's life. She attended their plays, recitals, sporting events, graduations, you name it. Anything that involved family meant that Caroline was there. She was very proud of all of them. Caroline was truly the core and glue of her family.
Caroline worked for Fresno Unified as an elementary school classroom teacher for 23 years. She loved her students, and they loved her. She was proud to be a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society and is commemorated with a brick on the 'Teachers and Friends of Education and Honor' wall at Fresno State.
Caroline had many hobbies and passions. She loved and enjoyed sailing, camping, crafts of all kinds, and every kind of game. She was active at Easton Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered at the Children's Clothes Closet, Vacation Bible School, and the Star Tree Event.
If Caroline knew you, you were family. She continues to be loved and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service for Caroline will be held at noon on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Easton Presbyterian Church located at 5895 S. Elm Avenue, Easton California, 93706.
