Cecelia married Fred Hudson, Jr. on January 31,1943. While Fred served in the CBI Theater during the Second World War, she lived and worked in Hollywood, California. Her time there, working at Howard Hughes' RKO Studios, was something she always remembered with fondness.
After the war, Cecelia and Fred returned to Huntington, West Virginia. Their daughter, Cecelia Ann, was born there. They made their home in Huntington until 1956, when the family moved to EI Paso, Texas. In 1960, they moved to Fresno, California, where she and Fred would spend the rest of their lives.
Cecelia loved to walk, especially at Oso de Oro Park, and she continued to walk until her final day. She loved people, and initiated many a conversation with complete strangers. She may have been tiny in stature, but so big in spirit. She will be missed by her family and her many friends.
A special thank you to Phyllis Peterson, who made her life easier, and the staff at Cottonwood Court, who helped her maintain her independence.
Her husband, Fred Hudson, Jr. predeceased her in 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Cecelia Hudson Dorian; her son-in-law, Brett Dorian; her granddaughter, Jennifer Shepherd and her husband, Jeff; grandson, Christopher Dorian; and her granddaughter, Joanna Dorian. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Evan Johnson, Brett Johnson, Hudson Dorian, Luke Shepherd, and Chloe Diaz.
A Memorial Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 50 East Santa Ana, Fresno, Ca. or Children's Hospital of Central California, or your favorite charity.
