Celia Hernandez

Celia Muñiz Hernandez, aged 83, a resident of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026. Celia born on August 16,1942 in Blue Island, Illinois. She later made Fresno her home, where she built a life centered around love, family and generosity.

She is survived by her devoted husband Noe Hernandez, eight children Marylou Hernandez, Noel Hernandez, Hector Hernandez, Roland Hernandez, Sylvia Hernandez, Victoria Hernandez, Victor and Guadalupe Hernandez, siblings Oralia Muniz, Velia Maldonado, 27 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Oralia Muñiz and Velia Maldonado.

Celia was preceded in death by her parents Leopoldo Muñiz and Santos Castillo Muñiz, her brothers Ramiro and Ezequiel Castillo Muñiz and her sisters Ofilia Luera and Olivia Muñiz.

Family was the center of Celia's world. Her children and grandchildren were her everything and her bond with her sisters was especially close-they spoke every day. She loved hosting gatherings at her home with her husband, children and grandchildren, creating a place where laughter, food and love were always shared, Celia's door were always open, and she was known for helping anyone in need, offering kindness without hesitation.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on February 16, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same venue at 1:00 pm.
