Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2011. She was born in Lawrenceburg, Tn. on March 26, 1920, the youngest of eight children. She lived in Fresno for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Peter Giordano; Colegero Portello, her husband of 15 years; her oldest son, Richard Giordano and eight brothers and sisters.
Dahlia was a homemaker and developed numerous lifelong friendships throughout her memberships in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and St. Agnes Service Guild where she served as President. She also served as president of the Shrine of St. Therese Mother's Club.
Dahlia felt very blessed to have her family and friends in her life.
Dahlia will live on in the lives of her two children, Julie Wills and her husband Chuck and Craig Giordano and his wife Carol. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and many wonderful great grandchildren.
