Dan M Takeuchi

Dan Takeuchi, 83, was born on April 26, 1928, to Waichi and Ayano Takeuchi, in Fresno, California. Dan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired truck driver for DiSalvo Truck- ing, a retired grape farmer, and an active, world class Olympic style weightlifter.

Dan always said what a wonderful life he had...full of love, family, friends, travel, and truly enjoyed competition. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for his family, friends, acquaintances, or his pets. They meant everything to him. He will be remembered and missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers George and Harry; sister, Matsuye Nakamoto; brothers-in-law, John Mikuni, George Fuku- yama, and Nobuo Nakamoto; sisters-in-law, Pearl Takeuchi and Mitsuka Fukuyama; nephews, David Chew, Alan Negoro, and Thomas Fukuyama; and niece, Susan Fukuyama.

Dan is survived by his wife, Mary, of 52 years; daughters Danna Cruz of Fresno, and son-in-law, Vince, Marla Yandall of San Diego, and son-in-law Patrick; and grandson, Marcus; brothers Ken, Leo and his wife Jane, Floyd and his wife Natsuyo, Vic, and his wife Reiko, and sisters Amy, Erma and her husband Mits; and many nephews, nieces, and his beloved dog, Cassie.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring Physicians and staff at St. Agnes Hospital CVICU 3 North; as well as Kara Yorizane, RN, for all of the compassionate care provided to Dan.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, on Friday, July 8, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.
