Dave was born on March 26, 1929, in Irvington, CA, the fourth child of Manuel and Virginia Brandao. In his youth, he worked on the family dairy. He joined the United States Army in 1951, serving as a Master Sergeant in the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to civilian life, he worked as a salesman for the Singer Sewing Machine Company, and later became manager. His love of cars prompted him to open his own car lot in 1965, Pastel Motors. He retained the business throughout his life. He was an honest, well respected businessman whose word was his bond. Dave was selfless; many times helping others to begin their own businesses, and by doing so made lifelong friends.
Dave married the love of his life, Georgia, on October 2, 1973, and she worked beside him for 23 years.
Dave lived a great life. He loved family, friends, model airplanes and boating. His affiliations included the Fresno Auto Dealers Association, Fresno Radio Modelers, and the Order of AHEPA. He was an active member of the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church.
Dave was preceded in death by his son Ronnie; his parents; brother Gil; and sister, Val Ciuffo.
He is survived by son, David Jr.; sisters, Lee Geller, Mary Cotta, and Mable Reed; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
