Mrs. Dora S. Ortega

Dora Solis Ortega was born on September 19, 1912, in Clifton, AZ. She joined her husband, mother, and brother in eternal life on Monday, October 5, 2015. She had just celebrated her 103 year birthday with five generations of her family present. She is remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her passion, and she was very dedicated to them. She was also very creative, and was an accomplished seamstress, reader, and knitter, and she loved her novellas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Jose Ortega; her mother; and her brother.

She is survived by her children, Armida O. Cardona of Fresno, and Robert and Kathryn Ortega of Ukiah, CA; as well as her grandchildren, Leo, Benjamin, Charles, and David Cardona, and Jordan, Alexandra and Simone Ortega. She also had three great-grandchildren; Aimee, Jeffrey, and Kaylei Cardona; and one great-great grandchild, Jacob Velasco. She was greatly loved and is greatly missed!

Thank you to all who have made Dora's life meaningful and comfortable, especially her daughter and caregivers.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Friday, October 30, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. followed by Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
