Dorothy Jean Ede

She was born October 12, 1935, in Leachville, Arkansas to parents Claude and Dontley Combs. They moved to California when she was 11. In 1954, Dorothy graduated from Fresno High and married Thomas Ede Sr.

Dorothy worked as a retail clerk until she began having children, then devoted herself to raising her family with her husband. She was active in the Fresno Gem & Mineral Society for many years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Dontley Combs; her husband Thomas Ede Sr; her brother Bobby Combs and her son Jack Ede. She is survived by her brother Scotty Combs; her children Lora Ede-Colley; Thomas Ede Jr.; Donald Ede; Keith Ede; daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was greatly loved and cherished by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held on May 12, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, Fresno, CA. A graveside service will be on May 13, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at Belmont Memorial Park, Fresno, CA.
