Dorothy and her husband, Leonard P. Marlow, were long time residents of Fresno. After raising their two daughters, she then worked as a bookkeeper for Frank Fasano, and the law firm of Baker, Manock, Wenger & Jensen, until retiring at the age of 58. She and her husband were both active in the Operating Engineers and the Edison Social Club in Fresno. They both enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad.
After her husband's death in 2000, Dorothy moved to Murphys, CA, choosing to live in the retirement community, The Murphys Diggins, for almost ten years. In Murphys, she was an active member of Native Daughters of Golden West Ruby PA Alor No. 46, The Red Hat Society, and the Angels Altar Society of St. Patrick's Church in Angels Camp.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her four siblings, Irene, Jimmy, Paul and Jessie; her husband, Leonard P. Marlow; and her eldest daughter, Cheryl Elaine Gardner.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Joan Gideon; grandchildren, Marlin Gardner, Jeff Gardner, Leslie Benge, Dana Gardner, and Eva Isenberg; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to deeply thank her wonderful group of caregivers for the last two years, Brandy, Jay, Lily, Theresa, and most especially Igor. Additionally, they would like to thank the very caring staff at Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
