Eleanor Oaxaca Martinez passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the age of 88. She was Born May 8, 1928 in Bakersfield, Ca. and raised in Fresno where she graduated from Fresno High School in 1946. In 1950 she married Trino Ray Martinez and in 1957 moved to Tracy, CA returning to Fresno in 1991.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Trino R Martinez; her brothers, Raymond and Gilbert Oaxaca; her parents, Raymond and Dolores Oaxaca all from Fresno. Eleanor is survived by her four children, Diane Martinez, Janet Comer and her husband Dan, Andrea Alvarez and her husband David, and Trino R. Martinez Jr., and three granddaughters, Alyce and Justine Alvarez and Serena Martinez; brother, William Oaxaca; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St Peter's Cemetery.
