

Elmer Glen Harelson passed into eternal life with Christ on August 15, 2010. Elmer loved to sing and play his guitar and harmonica. He was adored by many at Peoples Church and with his friend, Minnie May, entertained patients at several nursing facilities.
Elmer graduated from Fresno Tech and fought in the Big War. He loved his Church, City, and Country. For over 60 years
Elmer did hairstyling for men and had a devoted following of customers each of whom he valued as a personal friend.
Elmer participated in the 2010 Father's Day Run, an event that he and three other men co-founded 43 years earlier. Elmer was a member in the Fresno Handball Club.
Elmer was outgoing and positive. He was quick to tell others about Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Alice.
He will be missed by his daughter, Gennelle Pipes; son, Glen Harelson; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Many consider him their "uncle," and many more, their "friend."
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peoples Church, G.L. Johnson Chapel on Friday, August 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Peoples Church or the Fresno Rescue Mission.
