On Wednesday October 23, 2019, Frank Elias Sides, loving father to five daughters, passed away at the age of 98.

Frank was born on September 3, 1921 in Durham Oklahoma to Henry and Lucy (Huffman) Sides. Frank graduated high school in Durham and enlisted in the Army Air Corp on December 19, 1941. He served as a Sergeant in The American Theater and was honorably discharged December 10, 1945. On April 10, 1944 he married the love of his life, Madelon Louise Ross. They raised five daughters Linda, Geri, Pat, Mary and Barbara.

Frank was employed with Fresno City Schools as a cabinet maker for 22 years, then later as a maintaince mechanic and all around handyman for The Hotel Fresno.

Frank was a believer in physical fitness who rarely drove a car, he prefered riding his bicycle. He once rode his bike from Fresno to Morro Bay and back, a journey of almost 300 miles. He was an avid gardener, musician, and artist He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and backpacking. He was a talented tennis player, a sharp shooter with a bow and arrow and a man who generously would volunteer to help anyone who needed assitance.

Frank was a member of The Church of Christ and was a dedicated Christian.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Madelon Louise Sides. He is survived by his five daughters Linda Ross-Sides, Geri Morris and her husband Dave, Pat Hernandez and her husband Ray, Mary Sides and Barbara Woodward, twelve grandchildren, and many

great grandchildren.

The family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided to him for greater than nine years by Nan’s TLC, Kevin, Luz & Larry Newall.

There will be a service and viewing on Tuesday October 29, 2019 from 5-7pm at Tinkler Funeral Chapel at 475 N. Broadway, Fresno. A graveside service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park at 201 N. Teilman, Fresno, on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 10:00 am. A lunch will be held after the graveside service at his daughter Barbara Woodward’s home.
