Gayle Shaterian Smith

Gayle was born on September 6, 1960, in Fresno, CA. to George and Rowena Shaterian. She was raised in Easton, CA and graduated from Washington Colony Elementary and Washington Union High School.

Gayle was a four year member of the Washington high band which became an activity for the whole family. She continued her education at Fresno City College achieving two associate degrees. Gayle's career encompassed banking, insurance and bookkeeping. Her final endeavor was help care for her mom and dad.

Gayle will be remembered for her faithfulness to god. She had a never ending love for cats and dogs and had adopted many throughout her lifetime. Gayle also loved serving the elderly and was currently the president of the twilight haven ladies guild.

Gayle was preceded in death by her brother Michael and her father George.

She is survived by her husband John Smith of 25 years, her mother Rowena, Brother George and his wife Kari, brother-in-laws Byron, and wife Marsha, and Jeff and wife Dolli. She also leaves nephews Rowen, Robbie, Kenny and his wife Cassie, and Michael smith, niece Sarah Garcia and husband Jeremy.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
