

George met his wife, Barbara Jean Girardi, in junior high school. They attended McLane High School together and graduated in 1966. They later married on October 1, 1966. They recently celebrated their fiftieth anniversary. They had two daughters, Tamie and Cindy.
George was a Vietnam combat veteran for the United States Army, who loved his country and his flag. After his honorable discharge in 1969, George returned to Fresno working in many different fields. He was a cabinet maker, a butcher, and in construction and distribution services.
George lived a happy life full of family and friends, enjoying nothing more than a family gathering around the barbecue. He had a great sense of humor and everyone had a good laugh whenever he was around.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his two daughters, Tamie Frabotta, and Cindy Berends; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Paul, and Anna; his two great-grandchildren, Delany and Loreto; his brother, Victor Maresca; sister, Maureen Brugetti; and finally, his two cats, Bear and Shirley.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held at Belmont Memorial Park.
